Society "Creative Ideas" is established on 12^th October, 2011 as a non-governmental organization.

The Society “Creative Ideas” specializes in: education, society integration, culture and rural development and horizontally - in EU issues and priorities.

The members of the Society have come together to promote the development and international recognition of Balvi town and municipality, to diminish social exclusion and to solve important issues for the community by elaborating and implementing projects and by activating local society.

In year 2013 we are 13 members - local municipality, national authority and private sector employees with extended experience in local, national and international project implementation.

Society members have organized local, regional, national and international level events, such as trainings, seminars, study camps; have carried out researches; have elaborated development planning documents etc. The members’ education and perennial experience provides professional realization of the aims and high quality projects’ administration and implementation.

 The values of the Society play an important role and they are as follows: Expertise; Experience; Loyalty and Development.

 The society is actively working with municipal institutions (social service, further education center, library, art school, elderly house, museum etc.) to support local authority solve various social, cultural, education and other issues; and with NGOs and international organizations to bring exchange of experience, best practices to the community in order to promote development of Balvi county.

On 31^st October, 2013 Society has established structural unit in Riga - an education institution “creativeideas.lv”.

 We have 3 ongoing projects:

-    European Economic Area «NGO fund» supported project «Strengthening of institutional capacity and sustainable development for Society «Creative Ideas». Implementation in Latvia, no partners from July,2013 until the end of year 2015.

-    EU Lifelong Learning programme Grundtvig learning partnership supported Intangible cultural heritage project «The Living Heritage». Implementation with 8 partners from Latvia, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Poland, Malta and Bulgaria from 1^st august, 2013 until 31^st July, 2015.

-    European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development programme supported project “Leisure time and activities opportunities improvement for Balvi country inhabitants”. Implementation in Balvi, Latvia, no partners from 1^st October, 2013 until 1^st June, 2014.

Balvi County is located in the North East of Latvia nearby the border of Russian Federation – the EU external border; Balvi is 220 km from Riga, the capital of Latvia, 128 km away from Tartu in Estonia and 122 km from Pskov in Russia. Balvi municipality area is around 1045.26 km² and there are around 16 000 inhabitants, from which half lives in Balvi town.
