Folklore Company of Varnavas - Museum of Decorative Bread

Window On The world Of Decorative Bread From Greece And Abroad

 

Run in co-operation with the Folklore Company and Historic Folklore Museum of Varnavas.

The exhibits in the Bread museum in Varnava, Attica comprise the biggest collection of decorative bread in Europe. The one thousand (1000) varied exhibits cover the whole of Greece as well as thirty other countries of the world and are being added to continuously. As a result, the collection is unique in both size and shape.

This is a rare collection which is of educational value for all ages.

At this unique bread museum you can also see:

·  A reconstruction of agricultural cultivation- sowing, propagation, harvesting, producing, counting and transport

Visitors will be able to see traditional farm equipment, familiar to older members of the public but legendary for youngsters.

Visitors can also see ;

An exhibition of decorative bread and its corresponding bibliography

A traditional café serving hot and cold drinks and local sweets

Traditional local cuisine (prepared to order only)

Moreover, the Museum accepts orders for decorative bread and sugared almond bags for baptisms, engagements and weddings.
